Walt's Dream.....

Diane remembers, “He brought us every Sunday and we could have as many rides as we wanted while he dreamed about creating a big amusement park someday. You know, you used to be able to get a gold ring and when I was finally big enough to reach out for it, on an outside horse, well…one day I kept getting it! That was one of the most exciting days of my life! Much later, Dad told me that he had given some guy money to make that happen for me."
In the 1940’s, on Sunday afternoons, a young father brought his daughters Diane and Sharon to ride the Griffith Park Merry-go-Round.

He loved watching us have fun on it. I think this carousel is special for me, all merry-go-rounds are special…but this one ties so well with my father.”
Disneyland has now created a new feature for the entry to the Mr. Lincoln exhibit that showcases one of the benches Walt sat on, pictures of the carousel and one of its Looff horses that they have beautifully restored.
